    Wine and Regional Food Pairing 2023

    This menu is designed for the traveler that does not know Western Georgian wines well, and who wishes discover Western Georgia through the pairing of wine and regional cuisine, specifically Samegrelo’s gastronomical culture, in addition to an introduction to the wines.

    • The menu includes 4 natural wines made from local indigenous grape varieties (80 ml each) paired with 4 Megrelian dishes served in tasting portions;
    • Guests will be supplied with a detailed written description of the wines and food (Georgian / English options available);
    • Length of tour and tasting – 1 hour;
    • Minimal quantity of guests - 3 people.

    Prices:

    • Price per person 40 GEL;
    • Discount is available to partner companies for groups of more than 15 guests.

    White
    1. Tsolikouri 2023. Dry, white. Imereti, village Bangveti (Gordi, Khoni).
    Spontaneous fermentation and aging with no skin contact, in kvevri. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown grapes, with no chemical additives.

    Food pairing
    Fresh gebzhalia cheese roll with strained nadughi cheese.

    Amber
    2. Tsolikouri 2023. Dry, amber. Lechkhumi, village Leshkeda (Spatagori, Tsageri).
    Spontaneous fermentation and ageing in kvevri with 30% skins for 6 months. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown grapes, with no chemical additives.

    Food pairing
    Seasonal pkhali – herbal (/ vegetable)  ball seasoned with walnuts and local spices.

    Rosé
    3. Irina 2020. Dry, rosé. Samegrelo, village Chaburta (Martvili); Lechkhumi, village Orbeli (Tsageri).
    Cuvée: Tsolikouri, Orbeluri Ojaleshi.
    Spontaneous fermentation with no skin contact, and natural aging in stainless steel vessel. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown vines, with no chemical additives.

    Food pairing
    Chicken breast in bazha sauce, served on mchadi cornbread.

    Red
    4. Orbeluri Ojaleshi 2022. Dry, red. Lechkhumi, village Orbeli (Tsageri).
    Spontaneous fermentation in kvevri with all skins. Aged in kvevri for 6 months. 
    Wine is produced from organically grown grapes, with no chemical additives.

    Food pairing
    Jurjani pate served on toasted ghomi.
